Question:  When searching for a POI in the Mio Maps w/ 310x, there is no direction (or heading) indicated as to where the POI is located relative to your position/direction of travel.  For example, if I am looking for Taco Bell, I will be presented with 4-5 on the screen, however, I don't know if the first one is right behind me or in front of me.  The problem comes when I am traveling in an area I am not familiar with and I need a Crunch Wrap.  If I am on the freeway, I really don't want to choose a Bell that is behind me - I want one in front, even if it is a few miles more.  iGuildance did this w/ their software, I was wondering if MioMaps does the same.  Thanks for the replies.

On the newer series (320, 520, and 720) that use MioMap 3.3, there's a new tab in the cockpit display called "Nearby POIs".  When you select this, it shows a list of the nearest POIs with their icon, name, distance, and direction.

It doesn't work when searching for POIs though.  You need to first use Manage to turn on the category you are interested in.  By default, it is set to show the nearest gas stations.

I'm going to try attaching a picture I cut from the 3.3 user's guide...

The stock C310x comes with MioMap 3.2, and that feature isn't available.  You could turn on the POIs for all the Taco Bells, so they'd appear on your map view, but you don't have the "nearby" feature with the direction indicator.

This is it!  Is there any way to get MioMap 3.3 on the 310x?

No.  With the current licensing you can't load MioMap 3.3 (or the newer iGO software) on your C310x.

I've run into this so many times... I leave my search up on the screen and keep driving. I watch as it updates the distance to measurement, the one's getting farther away I ignore, then one's coming closer I'll click on to see how close they are to my route.  That's all I can suggest.
