I checked, it does seem to be just one file. However it uses the following dll's. You might check and make sure you have them all.
doclist.dll
mfcce300.dll
aygshell.dll
commctrl.dll
coredll.dll

well, I'm stumped. I still haven't got it to work. But I found a program called SirfTech that DOES work and can turn static navigation on and off. it doesn't seem to have any WAAS settings, but it will be good for now.

Well, I installed Noni, and all that other stuff. I loaded the maps on to SD card. When I try to open it on the Noni program all I get is the white screen w/ grid lines. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Well, I finally figured it out. It seems as if the files used in the C310auto.zip unlocking method do not play nice with MMSirf Setup. I did a hard reset today, because my mio locked up, and this time used the Unlock-310x-v2.CAB to unlock the mio, and then MMSirf was able to work!

@Mike-y, I use the cab as well and have had very good luck with it. Glad you finally figured it out!
@mioxm, how are you generating your maps? With GoogleMV or another way? Also are you using the pay version or the free version? The method for loading maps is slightly different. Once I know the answer to those two questions I can point you in the right direction. Sorry you're having trouble with it.

Thanks Captain, I think I figured out my problem. Can you only show maps of your current location? Because I made a map of my neighborhood and it worked fine. I tried a map of a local golf course and it wouldn't show up.
I generated the maps with GoogleMV and the pay version of Noni.

Well, by default, Noni starts you at your location. To see maps somewhere else, you have to click on the button that looks like a cross-hairs made of arrows. This is the 'map browse' button. Once you do that, you can zoom out and drag the map which ever direction you want to find the golf course and then zoom back in. Once you are done looking, you can hit the same button and it will take you back to your current location on the map.

Yes indeed, pull up the menu, go to "Quick Setup" then change zoom to manual. This will also unleash your distance measuring tools etc.
**Edit**
I just figured out (while writing the manual) that this is not entirely correct. Changing to manual will in fact cause the buttons to show, but if you want to keep auto zoom you can just change the Button Bar setting to Displayed and it will do the same thing.

Hey Captain IIII,
Thanks for all your help first off! I am having a huge amount of trouble with the GoogleMV1. After I have it installed and in English what do I do next? I have gone to Googlemaps.com. But I don't know how to get the map from there to GoogleMV1. Can you are anyone help with the next needed steps to obtain the maps?
Your help would be much appreciated!!

@Panicfreak, GoogleMV automatically downloads the maps for you. What type of internet connection do you have? If you have dialup, it will be a VERY slow process because it is pulling the same image plates as Google Earth does, so you may have to wait a while (2 or 3 minutes) before you see any maps. I've also found that most corporate networks are blocking streams from Google's map servers. At my work it just comes up as "Loading... -qstqqtrsrqsrtssq-"
Also, if you have it set to Cache only, you will not be able to see anything. In the configuration page where you chose the language, if you select the Internet tab instead, make sure "Cache and Internet" is selected and not Cache only.
Source should be populated as follows:
Image download request from:
http://kh.google.com/kh?v=99&n=404&t=t
Hybrid download request from:
http://mt.google.com/mt?n=404&v=w2t.60&x=
Map download request from:
http://mt.google.com/mt?n=404&v=w2.60&x=
You should be able to get the addresses above by just pressing "Defaults" button. Use Mirrors should also be checked.
One more note, if you try to run the program out of WinZip or WinRAR it won't work. You actually have to unzip the files into a folder outside the zip file before it will work. Hopefully this will help. Let me know if it gets you any farther.
@Everyone else, new version available.

Captain IIII,
Thanks for your write up! I do have some questions? I got everything installed. I had the same problem others had with MMSirf but that was solved by running the v2 unlock cab file.
Great little utility for turning off static nav!!
Anyhow my problem seems to be getting maps from GoogleMapView to display on Noni. I get the map.jpg and the map.map files made ok and saved to the Mio. I seem to have no problem importing them but the part when you say:
"Now hit OK and once again, Viola!"
I take it I should now see that map being displayed in Noni? I do not??? I have the freeware ver. Is that what is wrong? Or maybe some dll problem?
If this works for me how do I donate to the maker of this software and how does registration work? How much is 5 Euros in us dollars?
Thanks
Bob

The key is that you're using the free version. I should have mentioned it, but wasn't aware at the time, that in the free version it works a bit differently. You do the jpg file the same, but when you import the map file, instead of filling in the fields for you, it gives you a screen that has the information on it. You have to copy that info down and then manually enter it into the spaces for width, center, rotation etc. Then you should see it. Let me know if that works.
1 Euro = 1.35800 U.S. dollars so it's about $6.70.
You just send him a paypal payment and he sends you a code to enter on the about screen. After that it automatically remembers all your maps and you can save tracks.

Thanks for the quick reply,
Yes, I know about that. I read that in the other messages... I do enter the info myself into those fields. But after I click OK nothing shows up? Its the same grid screen that shows without the map imported.
This is wierd, If I go back into setup and choose update (I dont change anything) but just choose the save and test button the map shows up.
But when I try to navigate nothing happens the cross hairs don't move and the N.W. cords.. don't change. I then click the screen and choose the icon on the right that looks like 2 arrows(like a X) the map Disappears.
I hope I'm missing something simple....
Thanks
Bob

Did you load maps of where you currently are?
Try a map of your neighbor hood. And see if it works. It will recognize the coordinates and only show your current location. At least thats what I did.
I have not played with the program much, but that is what worked for me.
